ART HOUSE PRESENTS ‘SALON D’EXPLORATION’

AT THE BACK LOFT, Saint Augustine Street, Dublin 8.

Opening: 6pm -10pm Wednesday 13th February

continuing til the 20th of February

‘Salon D’Exploration’, is a collaborative show between ‘La Cat Salon’ and seven artists who are recent Fine Art graduates from NCAD and DIT. One of the artists will be collaborating with Eamonn Kennedy who’s doing a PhD on the Physics of nanoscale imaging and its application to cancer research. The artists are associated with an art collective known as Art House, which aims to establish an art studio in Dublin. The Back Loft is an exhibition space in a what was a Victorian textile factory. During the twentieth century it was also as a space to store rental televisions. Most of the work in the exhibition explores the architecture and the history of the ‘Back Loft’ building. The artists use a wide variety of media including sculpture, painting, embroidery, photography, projection and video work.

This exhibition will feature the ‘Back Loft’ Café. Art House will also host a number of events including a poetry performance night, music and a series of curator and artist talks. A list of these events and when they’ll be on will be available at http://arthousedublin.tumblr.com/ and http://thebackloft.blogspot.ie/
